Brad Buehler was born in Toronto, raised in the suburbs of Chicago and has been residing in Texas the past four years, falling head over heels in love with the city of Austin.
Brad was introduced to an eclectic mingling of sounds early on, primarily through his parent’s various record collections. Even as a child he often selected the albums of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson. The family danced and sang, filling the home with music as they enjoyed the company of friends from around the Midwest neighborhood. “My Dad was always listening to more lounge and big band stuff in one room and my Mom getting down to Motown, Funk, and Disco in another. I really came to love and appreciate the different atmospheres and vibe that music can create under one roof.“ “Growing up I was never really alone. If you weren’t in your yard with ten or more kids running around and a few folks barbecuing, then you were a house or two down. It was like one big block party all the time and if not outside on a summer night you were happily crowded into a kitchen in the winters. The music always reflected the seasons or holidays.” Brad soon took to the city and found a groove within the horns and pianos of Chicago House and Hip-Hop clubs, as well as the extended improvisations of the Blues, Jazz, and Bluegrass artists at larger venues. With a love for sharing music and bringing people together he purchased his first turntables, mixer and one crate of records and began to entertain his attraction to club and concert promotion. Flash forward. We now find Brad with a degree in Commercial Music Management and ten plus years DJing and organizing successful events across the country, rocking many a dance floor right here in Texas and beyond alongside the Texas Pro DJ team. In December of 2012 Brad married his long-time sweetheart. With Barrington Miles, our company’s founder and CEO officiating and the Texas Pro DJs helming the turntables, the small venue in South Austin may never be the same as the wedding has gone down in history as one of epic proportions. Brad of course could not resist DJing at his own reception, much to the delight of his guests. In his years with Texas Pro DJ Brad continues to express his affections for family and friends sharing food, drinks and music. By going above and beyond he will assure that you and yours truly have the best time together and create memories to last a lifetime. Just about all of my wedding guests personally came up to me to tell me this was the BEST wedding they've ever been to. Brad and Kellen worked so well as a team and delivered smooth mixes. They read the crowd well and kept everyone on the dance floor for over 7 hours straight! People that don't normally dance, were dancing! There was not one song we didn't like, and let me tell you, the groom is very particular about his music. Brad and Kellen were also very professional about handling song requests. They knew the perfect time to play the request and stuck to our "do not play" list. When we requested a song, they found it instantly and transitioned it in! My guests also commented on their dress and how professional they looked. These guys are top notch and if you want your guests to remember your night, I would suggest you go with Texas Pro DJs. They have true talent and are not a playlist company.
Tommy and April Fleming 9/21/13 If I didn't already think that Brad was an excellent DJ, I was told by no fewer than 10 of my guests at our wedding that he was the best wedding DJ they'd ever heard. No joke. 10 of 100 people. 1 out of every 10 people at my wedding were blown away enough to approach me and let me know.
Top 3 reasons: 1. No cliche wedding songs, as we discussed with him beforehand. 2. Uptempo, mainstream music that encouraged people to dance and stay dancing. 3. Responsive and quick to change styles depending on the type of people on the floor. (i.e. kids on the floor - Bruno Mars & Robin Thicke, parents/aunts & uncles - Journey & Rock you like a hurricane!) Brad is actually the reason we got a DJ in the first place. We met him through a friend, and when we said that we were going to iPod the wedding he talked us into going with Texas Pro DJ. Being comfortable with him already, we chose Brad to spin at our wedding and to make us feel better he met with us at least three separate times before the wedding to outline the event and specific songs. Brad was very responsive to us in setting moods and styles for the dancing/cocktail/dinner portions. His selections were varied and spot on in what we were looking for. I couldn't recommend Brad and Texas Pro DJ more. The whole style is very professional and methodic, but the people are great and laidback. We first met with Miles at the Dub Academy and were totally impressed by the turn tables and all of that technical DJ stuff that I know nothing about. These guys are not typical wedding DJ's, they are "turn-tableists" and create the most amazing party vibe for the wedding. We chose Brad based on his bio, which seemed to match our style, and after meeting with him to go over our vision for the reception, he totally nailed it! Mike and Addie Gomez 11/23/2013 The DJ we hired for our wedding, Brad Buehler, was absolutely great. I work in the music industry and I was a bit worried about having a hired DJ represent my taste in music, but he really came through and understood what we wanted.
One thing I didn't expect, which was GREAT, was that he helped a lot with the scheduling on-site - organizing the crowds for cake cutting, bouquet toss, exit, etc. We didn't have a wedding planner so it was really helpful to have someone on top of that stuff. The staff are super organized and dependable. They have a nice website interface where you can add songs you want to hear at certain times. You can just kind of describe the "vibe" you want for a certain part of the reception and they'll work with that, or give them a few artists you like and they'll build a playlist around it. Brad did a great job finding music that would please me and my wife, our friends, and our family at the same time, which isn't easy. Everything from 90s R&B to Texas Country to Frank Sinatra to current Top 40 stuff. We had people from the ages of 3 to 75 dancing, including family members who I don't think I've ever seen dance. Two of my groomsmen did the "Dirty Dancing" lift-above-the-head dance move at one point. It got crazy. We got a lot of compliments after the wedding about his set too, everyone loved it. The best part is that you know they're professionals, so you don't have to worry about them screwing things up and you can just relax and enjoy the party. Jen Thompson 11/02/2013 We hired Texas Pro DJ for our son's wedding party this past weekend. Brad was our DJ and he did a great job. We didn't have many requests for music other than the first dance son and a few others, but we were specific in our time line and told him after the cake was cut to "get the party going" which he did. The dance floor was packed all evening and the tempo of the party was great. We were extremely please and all our guests of all ages said the DJ was great! Thanks to Brad for making our party a huge success!
